These two linden trees on the church square in front of the entrance to the church are designated as natural monuments. One is only a 3 meter high stump that sprouts from below.

The (predecessor) church was built around 1150. An older core in the existing structure cannot be ruled out, but it is not recognizable. A papal letter of indulgence from 1296 for building work could be related to the construction of today's church. In 1723 the new building of the choir and repairs, especially the corners of the ship, were carried out with inscriptions by the master masons Johannes Schmal from Laisa and Hermann Mandel from Holzhausen. Changes to the west wall and windows possibly around 1800.
