The shooting range was built in 1869 for the ‘Snipers Association Frederiksoord en Omstreken’. Young people who had practiced sufficiently at the Exercise School and were 14 years or older were allowed to participate in the shooting exercises. Due to the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, the association ceased to exist. In 2010-2011, the range was thoroughly restored by the 111 Armoured Engineer Company from Wezep
