The Basketry in Wilhelminaoord is part of the Maatschappij van Weldadigheid. The Company was founded in 1818 by Johannes van den Bosch.
Over time, it became clear that not everyone was suitable for agricultural work. The Basketry was built for them. It became the first industrial building in the region around 1900, with shed roofs as was common at the time. As a result, there was maximum light in the factory hall. When the industrial activities at this place came to an end, around 1937, the shed roofs disappeared and the Basketry was partly used as a residential location.
