Hiking
From Kirchbarkau you have a great view of the small Bothkamper See. The bathing area in the village often has a very good water quality compared to other bodies of water. The lake belongs to the moraine area of the Upper Eider, whose source is nearby.

Hiking
There are also good photo opportunities at the small mouth of the Au, which flows into the lake in the town of Bothkamp.
