In the Wotanshain or Odinshain in the Bogenhausen-Priel district, so to speak "in the back" of the Bogenhausen Clinic, which was built in 1983, a statue of the father of the gods Wotan (Odin) made of Kelheim marble has stood on a pedestal above towering boulders since 1874. The scowling Germanic god of war has lost his right arm and spear over the decades. It is getting on in years, as is the villa "Am Priel", a few steps further north, which the painter Anton Höchl had built in 1852. He commissioned the little-known sculptor Heinrich Natter to create the figure.
