Perachori is the largest village on Ithaka and is located about 300 meters above sea level. It is known for its spectacular views of the natural harbor of Vathy and the Ionian Sea.
From Perachori, popular hiking trails lead to ruins such as Paleochora (the former medieval capital) as well as to the Cave of the Nymphs.
The village is known for its wine production; every year on the last Saturday in July, a wine festival is held there.
