Landgrave Pond

The approx. 4,000 m² large (fish) pond is located on the edge of the spa gardens in Bad Salzhausen and surrounded by ancient oak trees.

The landgraves of Hesse-Marburg and Hesse-Darmstadt were strong sponsors of Salzhausen in the 17th and 18th centuries, but they also earned a lot of money with brine processing and salt extraction. The Landgrafenteich is a homage to the noble, aristocratic sponsors of this time.

Located on the edge of the spa gardens in Bad Salzhausen and surrounded by ancient oak trees,
the approximately 4,000 m² body of water is the perfect destination for a leisurely stroll.
As the Landgrafenteich has not been managed for several decades, the old fish population is sure to hold a few surprises.
The body of water can only be fished from the sides with a footpath.
