Small spring that splashes into a beautiful basin in a small waterfall. Very pleasant and idyllic if you are traveling outside of the main travel season

In the south-west of France, perched on a rocky outcrop above the Dordogne valley, is probably the most unusual parkland in the Aquitaine region: the Gardens of Marqueyssac (French: "Jardins de Marqueyssac"). They are also known as the "hanging gardens of Marqueyssac" because of their location, some 130 meters on a rocky outcrop above a bend in the Dordogne river. What makes the Gardens of Marqueyssac so special?
The parks of Marqueyssac Castle are not only a must for garden lovers, but also those who enjoy long walks will feel at home in the extremely well-kept gardens. Although still privately owned to this day, the palace gardens have been open to visitors since 1997 and are being expanded year after year.
Signposted paths with a total length of around six kilometers lead back and forth across the palace grounds, past around 150,000 finely trimmed boxwood hedges and decorative topiary trees.Great views of the Dordogne Valley and the nearby towns of Beynac-et-Cazenac, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and La Roque-Gageac open up again and again. The view from the belvédère, the magnificent vantage point with visual aisles to the surrounding fortresses in the area and over the Dordogne, is particularly beautiful.

Beautiful place where it is possible to stroll along walks of different difficulties (easy access for strollers / via ferrata). Entrance may be a little expensive.
