The Castletown Estate encompasses much of the peninsula between the Rivers Eden and Esk and includes a 5000-acre (2000 ha) farm and 2800 acres (1130 ha) of salt marsh.

The grade II-listed mansion was designed by architect Peter Nicholson in 1809 and stands beautifully proportioned amidst the estate
