As well as beautiful displays from flocks of wading birds, the seafront here is also known to have hosted seals, porpoises, dolphins and whales. In the distance, the Isle of Man rises from the waves.

The cliffs here reach up to 197 feet (60 m) in height and are unstable, being comprised of compacted mud, stones and boulders. The result of ancient glaciation, their form is transient. Every violent storm that assaults the coast takes a little more away to sea.
