There is a gazebo on top of the ice cellar. This can be reached along the narrow path that winds upwards between the yew hedge. From this point you have a limited view over the park domain.
The icehouse itself is still in excellent condition and is a rare example in the wider region.
The ice cellar was the repository for blocks of ice in days gone by.
The ice that used to be taken from the moat in winter was kept in this cellar. This provided the necessary cooling even during the summer months.
