The origins of the castle can be found in the year 1075 when Bishop Bernat de Carcassonne,[1] son of Cornellà del Terri, died there. Today, of this castle, there are remnants of the wall and fragments of the main building, which today has become a farmhouse. What stands out, however, is the Gothic, square tower, of considerable width and height that juts out right in front of the church of Sant Miquel and which, despite its austerity, is a very spectacular construction. Further apart there is an old circular tower that was part of this enclosure.

Hiking

The castle in the small town of Palol de Revardit was built in the 15th/16th century, but a castle existed on this site as early as 1074. After 2005, it was extensively renovated. Unfortunately, we could only view it from the outside (on a Saturday afternoon), as all the doors were locked. We would also have liked to visit the interior and the exhibition. We were not able to find out when the castle is open.
