The Mills of the Dukes of Arenberg, transformed into a tourist and cultural center, were built at the end of the 14th century on the banks of the Senne. The large mill today includes an impressive machinery (driven by a paddle wheel with a diameter of 7.50 m), the Porphyry Museum and temporary exhibitions. In addition to evocating the paving stones known all over the world as 'Belgian blocks', the history of porphyry, the Quenast quarries and the hard labor of the 'cayoteux', the name given to the workers in the quarries. You can also see the different types of stones and the old tools.
