Former cemetery with some sights such as the memorial to the soldiers who died in Essen hospitals from the Franco-German War of 1870/1871. There are also 2 memorial stones for those who died in the mine accidents in the Zeche Victoria Mathias and Zeche Amalie. In the northeast of the park there is still an old Jewish cemetery, which is not open to the public.More information: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alter_Friedhof_Segeroth

The Old Cemetery Segeroth (now Segerothpark) is a disused municipal cemetery in what is now Essen's Nordviertel district, which also covers the former working-class district of Segeroth. In the north-east of the cemetery is the largest Jewish cemetery in Essen.

Former cemetery of the venerable Segeroth. Just so drenched in mining and city history.
