In the pattering rain we pass the courtyard (“Do you remember?”) And the locked imperial palace before we hike into the charming heart of Kaiserswerth; treat ourselves to two Berliners at Schuster on Klemensplatz (those with chocolate are the Kalo-Hammer; dinner largely canceled.), which we eat under the awning, protected from the rain, in the face of passing, wet passers-by.
