In 1939, construction of Fasan II began on the left bank of the Wertach (municipality of Wehringen) and was canceled again in 1940. The reason for this was the rapid success of the French campaign and the reserves of ammunition that were no longer required. Up to 3,000 workers were deployed under the management of the Munich construction company Muy and Pitroff. After the end of the war, the construction costs of Fasan I and Fasan II were estimated at 21 million DM.
