Around 1600 the name for a quarry appeared in
nearby. When building a forest house in 1839
Rock discovered that contained good building material. Afterwards the
Quarry built, which was operated until 1912 and
Delivered building material for Nuremberg and Erlangen. From 1866
there was also a commercial enterprise, which expanded over the course of
developed into a popular excursion destination in the area over the years. After the end of World War II, the area was taken over by the American military and the inn was blown up. Only the old sandstone cellar remains.
