On the ground floor of the tower, the oldest part of the church building, there is this medieval painting, which depicts Christ as the judge of the world and the wide open mouth of hell. It was probably built in the 13th century during the Catholic period and was preserved in the now Protestant parish church after the Reformation.

Between the Lohrhaupten Matthäus-Kirche and the Frammersbacher Bartholomäus-Kirche runs the approx. 12 km long Kirchweg, which reminded us that the Frammersbachers had to walk to the church for 300 years after Lohrhaupten. Today this is a nice ecumenical project. Because over the course of history, Frammersbach, which was once Kurmainz and is now Bavarian, has remained Catholic. Hanau and Lohrhaupen, which is now part of Hesse, joined the Reformation, so that the local church has been Protestant ever since
