The Babenstuben Moor, with its approx. 2.1 square kilometers, is one of the small moors in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and is part of the Bad Tölz moor axis. It is a remnant of Lake Wolfratshausen, which was formed during the Ice Age. In 1994 the moor was placed under nature protection. Although relatively small, it houses many rare treasures of fauna and flora. It is known for its many species of butterflies, which cavort here in the blossoms of, among other things, mealybugs, marsh gentian, swallow-root gentian, globeflowers, marsh gladioli and various thistles.

Now at the end of June you can see lush green meadows with faded cotton grass, which makes a white stripe visible from afar. Be sure to stay on the trail as you never know how safe the ground is
