... an authentic historic residence offering refined suites and apartments. This small medieval village stands majestically among the hills overlooking the sea, embracing the suggestive border between Romagna and Marche.
With a thousand-year history of 1200 years, the castle is one of the rare jewels remaining in the Malatesta lands.(Source: castellodigranarola.it )

The castle of Granarola, as its toponym implies, was strongly linked to the agricultural economy of the area surrounding it. Its name derives from the term granarium with the addition of the suffix iolus, granariolus, which means small granary.
In December 2008 BRANDINA began the recovery of the ancient Granarola Castle, one of the few precious castles remaining in the Malatesta lands. In the belief that the Italian artistic, historical and architectural heritage must be preserved, BRANDINA privately took care of the purchase and total renovation of the Castle.(Source: castellodigranarola.it/castello-2 )
