The Blankeck beacon is on the Putlos military training area, on the border with the Blankeck campsite. As a warning light, it shows the closing times for the shooting areas in the Bay of Kiel.

The white concrete tower built in 1986 with a red lantern house, gallery and round flat roof shows strong lightning when air and sea targets are fired from the Putlos military training area and Todendorf military training area.
