Kulturhaus Rössle

Rössle Culture House
The Rössle looks back on an eventful history. Shortly after its opening in the first half of the 19th century, the inn had become an important part of social life in Mauren. Numerous dancing and singing events took place here. The small stage in the hall was used for theater performances. The Rössle also served as a political meeting place. So between 1878 and 1886 the electors of the Unterland met here to elect the members of the state parliament.
After the inn stopped operating in 1998, its future was uncertain. The planned demolition could be prevented by the commitment of private individuals, the community and the preservation of monuments. Today the building is owned by the municipality and is a listed building. After extensive renovation work, it was reopened in 2015 as the "Rössle Culture House".
