War memorial WW2 on the outer wall of the cemetery. Also memorial plaques on the funeral hall and a memorial plaque WK1 in the church

The church was first mentioned in a document in 1315. From 1454/55 the church belonged to the parish Großholzhausen until 1956 the parish Brannenburg became independent again.
The church, together with the vestibule with the Preysinger coat of arms, which was added in 1788, is approx. 31 m long in the west and approx. 8 m wide in the nave, its Gothic spire is approx. 40 m high. Apart from the vestibule and the baroque windows, its late Gothic exterior has largely been preserved. The chancel and nave are separated by a pointed arched choir arch, but the Gothic vault ribs and almost all Gothic frescoes (only a few remains in the choir and the Apostle's cross under the pulpit are still visible today) and almost all Gothic furnishings in the interior of the church are baroque destroyed by 1670/80 and 1723/24.
