The Laxenburg Palace Park with its huge park landscape, the Old Palace, the Blue Courtyard and the romantic Franzensburg is considered one of the most important monuments of historical garden art from the 18th and 19th centuries, with a history stretching back well into the 13th century. Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth, called "Sisi", once spent their honeymoon here, Crown Prince Rudolf saw the light of day in Laxenburg. From 1306 to 1918 the summer hunting and private residence of the imperial Habsburg family, the palace park is today an extremely popular destination on the outskirts of Vienna.

The Laxenburg Palace Park covers an area of approx. 280 hectares. There are countless natural and architectural monuments in the castle park. These include the approx. 25 hectare castle pond, which is connected to numerous watercourses. In the middle of the castle pond sits the Franzensburg, which can be reached via a stone bridge or by ferry during the season. Many unique and interesting buildings, monuments and bridges allow you to experience and enjoy history as well as garden art - from the Green Pleasure House to the Concordia Temple to the Forstmeisterkanal with the large cascade (waterfall) at the eastern end or the tournament area, the knight's column and all that knight's grave and the Haus der Laune, which has been extensively revitalized in recent months.

The castle park is accessible all year round. Peak season is annually from April 1st to November 1st. There are three entrances to the castle park, with the main park entrance (P1) and the recreation center park entrance (P3) being open daily, and the Reitstalltor park entrance (P2) only being open on weekends and public holidays. A total of around 1,000 parking spaces are available to our guests free of charge at these three entrances; there are marked disabled parking spaces at the main park entrance. All three park entrances are barrier-free.

The opening times are adapted to the seasons and can currently be seen on the homepage schloss-laxenburg.at - as are the admission prices. The castle park is closed at night for security reasons.
