The post mill is a landmark of the municipality of Zeuckritz and can be seen from afar. This was built in 1865 and was in operation until 1953. After that, the mill was left to decay because it was very difficult to preserve such a structure during the GDR. In 1994 the post mill was bought by the former municipality of Bucha, now the municipality of Cavertitz. A comprehensive restoration of the outer shell and the wings took place in 1996. Since then, the Zeuckritz post mill has been a destination for numerous day trippers. There is a connection to the cycle route network of the Leipzig-Elbe cycle route, as well as to the Elbe cycle path.
