At this point you are in the center of the Dahlen Heath and six different paths come together here. It was an important meeting point for hunters and loggers in the past - and because there used to be a huge oak tree, people always met “at the hunting oak”.

The old oak no longer stands today; a wooden memorial column was erected in its place in 1763 to commemorate the Saxon Elector Friedrich August. Today you can admire a replica of this pillar, which was inaugurated in 1995 - the present-day hunting empire - and take a break in the large hut.

Hunter's oak at a seven-way spider in the center of the Dahlen Heath. Erected in 1763 in memory of the Saxon Elector and King of Poland Frederick Augustus after the last court hunt.
Remains of the original column are in the village church in Sitzenroda. Another replica was recovered after 1945 and is in the local museum in Dahlen.
