    Hollwege

Hollwege is a small, manageable village that can look back on a long history as Eschdorf.

It was first mentioned in documents in 1107 with 9 farms. However, its actual age cannot be determined exactly. Hollwege most likely existed as early as 800 AD.

The name Hollwege comes from holl - low - and wege - wede - forest. Hollwege was surrounded on all sides by lowlands and forest. Even today it is still beautifully surrounded by large oak trees, fields, pastures and lots of woodland.

In Hollwege, old and new houses blend harmoniously together. Old houses were carefully restored and new ones built so that the typical appearance was preserved. A beautiful example of the preservation of old buildings is the approximately 120-year-old mill, which has been lovingly renovated and is now used privately.

In 1982, Hollwege took part in the competition "Our village should become more beautiful" for the first time. It immediately achieved third place.
