Wippelgem Castle

Opposite the church of Wippelgem you will find the largest castle park in Evergem with the 'Wippelgem Castle'. The domain has been owned by the municipality since 2008. In this way, the board guarantees the continued existence of this special piece of Evergem's heritage: fragmentation is prevented and the coming generations can develop a unique park domain on the edge of the urban area. The oldest mention dates from 1375. In 1892 it was completely rebuilt.
The castle grounds comprise 27 hectares, of which 15 hectares are still in agricultural use. The park is freely accessible from sunrise to sunset. You can cycle, jog and walk there. Stay on the hiking trails and don't leave trash lying around. Dogs must be on a leash.
There is a lot to experience at the Castle domain of Wippelgem. You can walk, jog, there are events, festivities, receptions and in the castle itself marriages are celebrated and jubilees honored.
