Palcoda, inhabited from 1400 until 1923, reached 150 inhabitants in its maximum splendor. Agriculture, forestry and pastoralism allowed an indigenous lifestyle, common to many other abandoned villages of the Val Tramontina. You can browse inside the remains of the houses invaded by mosses and weeds accompanied by a ghostly and fascinating view at the same time. The church dedicated to San Giacomo, which stands out for its reconstruction, was erected in 1790 and restored in 2011, saving the apse that had collapsed, rebuilding the altar and floor. Under the clearing there is a wooden hut used in part as a shelter and bivouac.
