Sconce was built between 1907 and 1908 in brick and concrete. This Redoute was part of the defense of the outer fortress belt of the Stelling Antwerp WW1. The redoubt was also fitted with a wet vest. Redoubts were always built to support the forts. This redoubt is located between the Fort of Schoten and 's-Gravenwezel. Schans is not open to the public.
