The "Buschgraben" is a narrow glacial meltwater channel that extends from the Grunewald to the Teltowkanal floodplain. Between Zehlendorf and Kleinmachnow, on the former border strip, lies the "Buschgrabensee" and the wetland on the Erlenweg. Both areas had been inaccessible since 1961, and nature was able to develop undisturbed. Today, the Buschgraben lowland is a landscape conservation area that extends from Kleinmachnow to Berlin and offers a home to diverse animal and plant species.
