Yes, really... Spuncombe Bottom! 😀
A nice gentle start on a fairly good surface gives way to a much rougher and much steeper finish. Some beautiful views and woodlands to ease the pain.

Really not too bad overall. From the very bottom at Nibley Green follow signs to Waterley Bottom through a beautiful undulating valley. When those signs run out there's one more for Wotton via Steep Hill 1/7, or Whiteway 1/6. the latter is the Waterley Bottom Climb which is a whole notch harder and longer.
Past the white house and stables and the climb starts in earnest. It's a pretty washboard surface with some potholes to avoid, not sharp initially but ramps up to 16-17%, turns a corner and you're done once the trees open out.
