Tips
It was in 1873 that the general council launched a study to build a bridge between Nantes and Ancenis. In 1876, out of the 24 candidate municipalities Thouaré and Mauves were selected.
Work began in 1879 and ended in 1882.
The bridge was destroyed twice during the 1939-1945 war by the French and then by the Germans. Rebuilt by the Germans in a different architectural style, then destroyed again, it was finally remade by the French in the image of its first construction.translated by
