The name of the property refers to a certain Martinus Ramax from Diest, who purchased the farm and the associated land in 1765. On the Ferraris map (1771-1778) the site, located on the southern edge of an extensive heathland area, is called "Bossmans Ende". The farm complex was probably already used as a country estate and one of the two buildings had a recreational function. The name "Remax hoof" is first mentioned in 1823, on the Primitive land registry map (then Schaffen section K). In the cadastral register, the two small buildings west of the street are described as a "playhouse", owned by a certain Jean-Baptiste 's Jongers, a municipal councilor from 1830 and alderman of Diest from 1849 to 1858. In 1869, the farm-playhouse complex was sold together with almost 25 hectares of surrounding land to Baron Eugène Zerezo de Tejada, representative of the people, descendant of a family from Spain, which played an important political and economic role in the Diest region during the 19th century. area. It is simply interesting to come here while walking, jogging, cycling and ask yourself: "What is that?"
      ----------
The REMAKSHOEVE, which forms the historical core of the current Remaks estate, was first mentioned in 1610.
The new 'castle' was built in 1909 by Adolf Verstappen, approximately 100 m southwest of the Remakshoeve.
It was built in neo-traditional brick and sandstone style.
Surrounded by a landscaped park of 3 hectares, one third of which is wooded; two small ponds and a small hill as the end point of a vista; some rare trees.
