"The Großer Katzenkopf pear has been known since the 18th century and is not very common nowadays [...]. This variety has low heat requirements and also thrives at altitudes of up to 800 m. As far as the soil and the location are concerned, the pear is right undemanding. It blooms late, the fruits can be harvested from mid-October. They are ready to eat from November and last until spring if stored in a cool place. [...] "
