Hiking Highlight
On the Schlossberg high above Pitten you can visit the artful mountain church, which is dedicated to Saint George. The baroque building dates from the 18th century and is surrounded by a wall - so it can be assigned to the fortified churches.
A rare cave church with frescoes from the 13th century is hidden directly behind the mountain church. It is believed that the cave church was already used as a place of worship in pre-Christian times. You also have a spectacular view of the surroundings from here.

06/06/2020 - I would classify it as one of the most beautiful mountain churches, plus the seeming view from above over the country.
