On the Schlossberg high above Pitten you can visit the artful mountain church, which is dedicated to Saint George. The baroque building dates from the 18th century and is surrounded by a wall - so it can be assigned to the fortified churches.

A rare cave church with frescoes from the 13th century is hidden directly behind the mountain church. It is believed that the cave church was already used as a place of worship in pre-Christian times. You also have a spectacular view of the surroundings from here.

21.07.2019 - The baroque mountain church is dedicated to St. George and dates back to the 18th century. It is typical of the region - the church is surrounded by a wall with a crenellated wreath and is located on the fortified church road of the Bucklige Welt. A climb to the church is definitely worth it, since you have a magnificent view over Hohe Wand, Schneeberg, Rax, Semmering and Hochwechsel.
