! Well-intentioned tip!
This is definitely a difficult hiking trail, as another already wrote on local maps as a steep climb. You have to be free from giddiness and surefooted. A lot of exposed narrow spots and extremely steep and slippery in some sections. There is also a risk of falling rocks.
I cannot understand what another user wrote here.
Unworkable with the MTB. Only possible to wear and that borders on suicide. One is well occupied with oneself. Also pointless, as you can only push and carry from all directions.
Going with children is completely irresponsible. A misstep or mistake, a slip or a tired leg that gives way for a moment and the child is dead.

The way from the Oberetteshütte to the Saldurseen does not look difficult on the Komoot map. On site it is marked as a black trail on the hiking arrows. At the bottom of the parking lot there is even a hiking map where the path is marked as a steep path. ... which also describes it better!
I wouldn't go anymore today !!! (steep, narrow, slippery, exposed ... see photos!)

One of the most beautiful paths in the area around the Oberetteshütte. We have already walked this twice (the circular route from the Oberetteshütte over the Saldurseen, then descent into the Matscher valley and again ascent to the Oberetteshütte is an easy day tour). Even with children (in our case between six and 16 years of age) it is easy to do (as recommended by the Oberetteshütte innkeeper). On the way we also met mountain bikers (driving!).
