There has been a church on this site since 1152, although its shape and appearance have changed considerably over the centuries. The beautiful location directly on the lake has remained unchanged. The town center of Bosau is well worth seeing and is very close by.

Fieldstone church and bishop's cathedral in Bosau on the Great Plön Lake with an idyllic cemetery.

The 850-year-old fieldstone church was built in 1151/52 in the late Romanesque or early Gothic style by Bishop Vicelin from fieldstones, who dedicated the church to the Apostle Peter. The "smallest bishop's cathedral in the world" is located on the Mönchsweg cycle path and is definitely worth a visit. In summer, numerous concerts take place here, and the view of Bosau Bay and Plön Lake all around is fascinating.

The St. Petri Church is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
