Beautiful church in the middle of Waldenbuch.

Beautifully situated in the old town of Waldenbuch, the town church of St. Veit ⛪ dates back to the 14th century. Originally, the nave was attached to the tower on the west side. In the course of the expansion of the neighboring castle, however, the old nave was demolished and a new one was added on the east side between 1605 and 1607. The old Gothic windows were reused. The master builder Elias Gunzenhäuser and the stonemason Peter Pfänder from Leonberg were involved in the construction on behalf of the duke until his death in 1606. In the transverse church, which is attached to the west tower at a slight angle to the east, the altar stands free to the east and the pews and the three-sided galleries are aligned with the pulpit on the north wall. The eastern stepped gable with the perron and the planned main portal (access today from the south) is an impressive testimony to Renaissance architecture, as is the carpenter's masterpiece of the roof construction, from which the large western gallery is suspended without room supports. In the east gable there has been a rose window by the artist Walter Kohler since 1934.
