The Ratzeburg rowing legend began in the historic, thatched, picturesque boathouse of the Lauenburg School of Academics on Lake Ratzeburg.Since 1898 there has been a rowing team at the Lauenburg School of Academics (LG). Shortly after the Second World War, the then headmaster Adolf Tredup commissioned the high school teacher Karl Adam to look after this rowing class, from which the Ratzeburg rowing club emerged in 1953. The boathouse behind the town hall is still used intensively by the rowers of the school of scholars. The path along the LG boathouse was named "Karl-Adam-Weg" in 2010 in his honor.More detailed information:ratzeburg.de/Stadt/Stadtarchiv/Alte-Ratzeburger/index.php?La=1&object=tx,2559.205.1&kat=&kuo=2&sub=0
