If you intend to climb the Zugspitze from Ehrwald and take the train back down, you should first inquire about the operating hours of the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn. Several times a month a fondue evening takes place on the Zugspitze, where the train runs until 9.30 pm. So you can take your time on the climb and miss the big bustle, if you reach the summit after 5 pm. Of course, the train can also be used if you do not attend the fondue evening. The ticket can be bought directly before the start of the trip at the summit. In fine weather you can admire the beautiful sunset on the Zugspitze and the summit belongs to you, with a bit of luck, all alone.
