In Ober-Ingelheim there are two explanations for the name "Path of Sighs": either from the sigh of the lovers who walked home through this dark path from the fairground, with breaks, of course, or from the sigh of the mourners in a funeral procession from the church to Cemetery on Rotweinstrasse.

This path along the city wall used to lead to the cemetery, hence the name.

Interesting part of the Ingelheim city wall tour. The name probably goes back to the sad path to the cemetery.
