Ternscher See lies between forests and fields. It was created in the 1930s when clay was extracted for the expansion of the Dortmund-Ems Canal. While the west and east banks are built on by residential buildings, there are numerous bathing spots in the north and south. A rope swing awaits the daring on the north bank, while the south bank offers bathing fun for young and old. A climbing park in the water provides thrills.
