On the site of a presumably medieval mansion, the Electoral Saxon Councilor Johann Gottfried Matthäi had the solid, simple building built between 1748 and 1750. After the founding of the GDR, the property was used in a variety of ways as a “cultural center”, including as the seat of the local history museum. In addition to classrooms and a library, there was also a kindergarten in the building.

It is very nice to see that the manor is being restored and thus preserved for posterity.
