Bike Touring Highlight
From this vantage point you can observe the exact location of the dike breach of the great catastrophic flood of January 1953. The site of the dike breach is still open to the Oosterschelde. A new ring dike was built at the place of the viewpoint. Here you can also see the old concrete bunkers of the Phönix project, where once the concrete blocks for dike construction were made. These are today nesting place for bats and terns.
