Catholic church St. Jakobus from 1711. The origin is much older, however, because the oldest known document dates from 1437. On this it is called "Jakobuskapelle". Today's chancel was probably built around this time. A simple small stone altar, one Blue painting, was located under the high altar and was broken off during the renovation, as was the wooden pulpit with lively baroque ornaments.
From 1711 to 1716, the nave was extended to the Jakobuskirche and a bell tower was added to the Jakobuskapelle. The high altar, the baptismal font, the Pieta and the statue of St. James as well as the mourning image date from this period. The pipe organ was canceled in 1939. The side altar of Our Lady burned down on the night of December 23rd to 24th, 1954, together with the hand-carved statue of the Virgin Mary. The affinity of the church with the monastery Stift Odenheim is reminded by the chiseled coat of arms on both sides of the main entrance door.
According to a document from the 15th century, a St. James pilgrimage route led from Asbach via Helmstadt, Waibstadt, Sinsheim and Waldangelloch to Eichelberg. After the pilgrims have prayed here, they will have stayed at the Odenheim Monastery.
The late Romanesque sacraments niche with wrought iron bars and a lock in today's chancel belong to the last relic of the former St. James chapel. The niche made of reed sandstone is crowned by a triangle in which six circular ornaments and a hand with three outstretched fingers are carved. Six notches are carved into the circles, which meet in the center of the circle.

The crucifix is located a few meters below the Catholic church... unfortunately on the edge of the industrial area...
