The Nogal del Barranco parking lot is also known as “the goat” because of the metal sculpture of a male mountain goat planted on top of some granite rocks that are in the center of the square. In this emblematic place in the Sierra de Gredos there are information panels for some mountain routes, with the values of the natural space, a fountain and the beginning of the Carril de los Galayos mountain path, marked with the milestones of PR-AV 43, one of the most frequented mountain roads in the mountains after the path that leads to the Laguna Grande del Circo de Gredos from La Plataforma, on the north side of the mountain range.
