Sichelburg Castle

Symbol of Falzes, the Sichelburg Castle stands out for its tower architecture and the characteristic bay windows. There are few reliable sources that document the beginning of its construction; in historical documents it is mentioned for the first time in the 14th century.It was built near the town center as the main residence of the Lords of Falzes. Over the course of history it became the property of the Platzoller family, whose coat of arms, distinguished by the image of two sickles, has been the official banner of the Municipality since 1968, which bought it in 1999.Following the decision to use it as a gastronomic accommodation facility, in 2012 a profound rehabilitation and functional transformation intervention began. Today it houses the restaurant of the same name of chef Mirko Mair.sichelburg.it
