The Passion of Christ is symbolically reproduced on Good Friday in the parish of Irmgarteichen. The 14 stations of the cross represent a meaningful connection from the church to the cemetery. All 14 relief picture blocks set in stone masonry symbolize the suffering of Christ in an impressive way and make the difficulty of Christ's path understandable for everyone with the steep climb to the cemetery. The colorless relief panels once adorned the old church cemetery around the parish church. They come from a foundation of the married couple Johann Heinrich Ley and Maria Caroline geb. Shepherd from 1880.

Restoration in 1987 and construction of 14 new houses:
The cost of the restoration was 22,000 D-Marks. The total cost of the new installation was 100,000 D-Marks. In order to enable the wayside shrines to be treated, the upper parts were separated from the lower parts in June 1987 and prepared for transport.

The restoration workshop in Ochsenfarth (Paderborn) excellently supplemented the missing plastic substance and completely redesigned the 9th station, which had previously been replaced by a war memorial plaque. The citizens of Irmgarteichen dug out the locations for the 14 stations themselves and poured the foundations.
