Hiking Highlight
The Großenzersdorfer Arm should be fed from the Old and New Danube, but only 500 liters per second are fed in for the approx. 12 km long stretch of water. Due to the size of this arm, dehydration is inevitable in the long run. Why so little water is fed in is justified as follows:
Because of the endangerment of the drinking water wells!
Because chemical or hygienic limit values are exceeded
Because of the risk to house cellars from an increased groundwater level
Everyone can now make their own opinion about the reasons given by the responsible municipal department.
